Do It Anyway – A Reminder For (Almost) Anything

It might never feel “reasonable” to do it, and that is okay.

The truth is, we’ll never know until we do – and that is the only reason we’ll ever need to give it a go.

The question is — are the things that hold us back even worth it?

Whatever it is — fear, loss, fear of loss, or anything else really.

At the end of the day, or better yet, at the end of a few years from now — do you still want to be wondering what would have happened if you did it back then?

Or would you rather be at a place where you landed because at some point, you decided to do it anyway?

Maybe it will not take you anywhere, not anywhere you hope for anyway — but at least you’ll know, as opposed to wondering still.

Maybe it will be a terrible experience, and you’ll know not to repeat it again rather than wondering still.

And maybe, just maybe, it will change you in ways you exactly wanted to;

It will probably be one of the best decisions you took, no matter what transpired as a result of it — because you owed yourself an answer, and you found your way to it;

And what’s better than wondering all your life?

Probably knowing for sure by doing it anyway.

The worst kind of regrets are the ones that keep us questioning about possibilities that could have been tapped into;

About things we could have done;

Not things we could have done differently — no, but simply having done them as opposed to not.

The moments when we actually find ourselves at crossroads of taking a call, those moments will probably never make it obvious that we need to act rather than not;

In fact, they’ll show us a thousand reasons to not, even though just one is enough for us to go for it;

It is that one reason that we need to hold faith in, and go all in — because that’s the only one we need to test anyway.

We don’t need backing up with reasons — we need evidence to back us up;

And for that, we must try.

It might never feel reasonable to do something that could turn our world around, because life is too short to wait for things to make “perfect” sense to us, or worse to those around us.

We figure out, by figuring out.

After all, it feels far more (and perhaps only) fulfilling when we can say — “Yes, I tried it, but it didn’t work — don’t wanna do it again.”.

Or the best “It was the best thing I ever did for myself!”.

Either of those scenarios don’t do us any harm no matter how much otherwise our shy souls will convince us (in fact, they do us the kind of good only we owe ourselves), because waiting for something to feel “reasonable” enough is just not worth it.

Do it because you can, do it because you should, and most importantly — do it anyway.
